Five-Figure Settlement For Whiplash in Germany

27 April 2017

A passenger injured in a car accident while working in Germany was awarded a five-figure settlement for chronic whiplash.

Slater and Gordon Lawyer: Kieran Mitchell is a senior associate specialising in travel and international litigation at Slater and Gordon lawyers in London.

Settlement: £25,000.

What Happened: Our client was taking part in a Mercedes-Benz demonstration day in Germany when, as a passenger in one of the cars, his driver lost control, crashing into a tree.

Impact: Our client suffered a chronic whiplash injury. Whilst initially he assumed his symptoms would abate, three years later he was unable to pursue his dream of joining the Metropolitan Police as he failed the physical test due to the ongoing treatment he was receiving to his neck, back and shoulder.

How Slater and Gordon Helped: We brought a claim and negotiated a settlement with the German insurers.

Decision: Settlement of £25,000.
