Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)
CALM’s vision is a world where no one feels suicide is their only option. With 18 people lost to suicide every day in the UK, CALM supports anyone struggling with life, helping them see that they don’t need to end their lives to end their pain. They provide life‑saving services, practical mental health tools, and advice, while campaigning to equip everyone with the skills to prevent suicide and stand together against it.
Around 4,700 people sustain a spinal injury each year, leaving many facing long, life‑changing recoveries and a high risk of mental health challenges. Horatio’s Garden creates beautiful, therapeutic gardens in NHS spinal injury centres, offering spaces for reflection, rehabilitation and emotional support. Through gardening sessions, arts workshops and live events, they help improve wellbeing, reduce pain and aid recovery. With eight gardens already open, their mission is to ensure all 11 UK centres have a Horatio’s Garden so no one faces months in hospital without access to this vital support.
Maggie’s provides free emotional, practical and psychological support to anyone affected by cancer. Located beside NHS hospitals, their centres offer a calm, welcoming space where people can access one‑to‑one support, group sessions, benefits advice and workshops without an appointment. Their aim is to help people feel less alone, more in control and better able to cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis

Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS)
The UK’s only national charity dedicated to bone health, working to prevent life‑changing fractures through early identification, better care and trusted support. Their online Risk Checker and nurse-led Helpline help thousands understand their risk and navigate diagnosis. For 40 years, they’ve been transforming lives through awareness, prevention and support.

Every two hours someone in the UK becomes paralysed. Spinal Research funds pioneering work to understand and treat spinal cord injury, a condition that impacts far more than walking, affecting movement, sensation, continence and even breathing. They exist to drive breakthroughs that can transform life after paralysis.
Sue Ryder is a national charity providing expert palliative, neurological and bereavement support across the UK. Hear from last years Charity of the Year Winner, Wheelchair Football Association
Over the past year, powerchair football charity The Wheelchair Football Association was the firm’s selected Charity of the Year 2024/25, strengthening the charity’s national reach, driving further awareness of its impact as well as delivering fundraising support. The relationship, which continues to develop, also saw the law firm become sponsor of the National League Premiership, which is named Slater and Gordon Premiership for the 2025/26 season.
Dean Williams, Chair of The Wheelchair Football Association, adds, “Being named as their Charity of the Year has been transformative for us. We are a relatively small but ambitious charity with two wonderful members of staff supported by amazing volunteers, and the support we have received from Slater and Gordon since has been truly fantastic.”
