Holidaymaker Secures Four-Figure Settlement Following Fall at Florida Resort
30 September 2016
A British holidaymaker suffered a fractured wrist and psychological injuries when she fell down unlit stairs at a resort in Florida.
Slater and Gordon Lawyer: Sharon Rowles is a personal injury litigation executive who specialises in travel related claims.
What Happened: Our client was on holiday with her family at a resort in Florida when she fell from the top of a set of three steps. It was dark at the time and the steps were poorly lit. There was lighting located nearby, which was intended to illuminate the steps during nightfall. However, it was obscured by vegetation.
Impact: Our client sustained a fractured wrist which had to be put in a cast. She also suffered psychological injuries including trouble sleeping.
How Slater and Gordon Helped: We obtained medical evidence to ensure the injury was properly assessed and successfully negotiated a settlement of £7,750, which our client was happy to accept.
