Damages Awarded for Victim of 5-a-Side Slip and Fall
17 November 2015
A personal injury compensation settlement was agreed when a slip and fall at a leisure centre ended in leg injuries.
Slater and Gordon Lawyer: Clare Griffiths is a Personal Injury Solicitor at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Cardiff.
What Happened: Our client was playing a game of five-a-side football in a leisure centre. The fire doors had been left open to improve circulation of air. Unfortunately, it had been raining and water collected on the surface of the floor, causing him to slip when running up the side of the pitch.
Impact: Our client suffered a break to his tibia and fibula requiring surgery with further surgery in the future being possible.
How Slater and Gordon Helped: The defendant initially argued that our client was aware of the water and was therefore contributorily negligent but we were able to forcefully rebut that suggestion and secure compensation on a 100% basis.
