protective asbestos removal suit

Slater and Gordon Solicitor Louise Larkin was instructed by a former welder who suffered from occupational asthma.

Slater and Gordon Solicitor:

Louise Larkin is a Litigation Executive in the Chest & Asbestos Group at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Liverpool.

Case Value: £52,500

What happened:

Mr M previously worked as a welder in mechanical engineering where he was exposed to significant amounts of welding fumes. He was based in a workshop which was very confined and smoky. Mr M continued to work in the fume-filled atmosphere on a daily basis. He worked on all types of steel, particularly pipe work which were supplied to various power stations and chemical industries.

The effects of the constant exposure to the constant welding fumes in the unventilated room resulted in Mr M suffering occupational asthma.

How Louise helped:

Louise investigated the claim and Court proceedings were issued at the Royal Courts of Justice.

When Judgment was eventually entered against Boultings, an offer was made to pay compensation which was accepted by Mr M. He was very pleased with the settlement in relation to his occupational asthma claim and said:

“My wife and myself were treated with care and respect and we are delighted with the outcome. Would recommend their services to anybody.”
