£9,700 Compensation for Bank Customer injured after Slipping on Floor
26 March 2015
Slater and Gordon Personal Injury Lawyer Clare Griffiths recently secured £9,700 compensation for a Barclays Bank customer who was injured after slipping on a wet floor inside the bank premises.
On the day of the slip and trip accident, Clare’s client was running some errands in the bank when she slipped on a large patch of water on the floor which had not been signposted with a wet floor sign.
Clare’s client sustained a painful knee injury and it took 15 months before degeneration was diagnosed as the cause. Degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis is when you lose the articular cartilage within your joints which is the cushioning on the ends of the bones. It can be very painful and caused by numerous things including a nasty fall.
Due to the delay in diagnosis, Clare successfully secured £9,700 in compensation for the pain and discomfort endured by her client. Although not a pleasant experience, Clare’s client is happy with the settlement.
