Accountant Acquitted on Common Assault Charge
11 August 2014
Shula de Jersey, a Criminal Defence Solicitor at Slater and Gordon UK, successfully represented a trainee accountant who was charged with common assault against his partner.
Our client’s position was that it was his partner who had been the aggressor during the incident and that he had pushed his partner away in self defence in order to prevent injury to himself.
Our client's partner did not support the prosecution and the main evidence came from two witnesses who claimed to have seen the incident.
Having fully analysed the prosecution evidence and obtained important documentation from the prosecution Slater and Gordon Lawyers successfully secured an acquittal for our client following a trial in the Magistrates Court.
