Charges of Overseas Corruption Dropped

Slater and Gordon Lawyer completed the successful representation of a privately held company connected to the oil industry which had faced charges relating to alleged overseas corruption contrary to the Prevention of Corruption Act 1906.
He represented the company throughout the investigation which concluded with the prosecution offering no evidence following the acquittal of individual Directors in linked proceedings.
In addition to advising the company as to the evidence and formulating strategies to secure the discontinuance of the proceedings, he was asked to draft anti-corruption policies and provide training to senior staff to ensure that the client understood and complied with its obligations under the Bribery Act 2010.
