Employers fail to provide proper equipment resulting in night porter injury
16 November 2011
Working as a night porter on the day of the accident, our client was required to set up a conference room. In order to do this he needed to move furniture from the store room.
Furniture had been placed in the store room by members of staff during the day some of which had not been safely stacked or secured.
On entering the room a piece of furniture fell onto our client and landed on his left toe – permanently deforming the nail.
Our client had been advised by the day shift manager that he would be provided with safety shoes but this never occurred and our client was therefore wearing his own work shoes.
RJW helped recover £4750 to compensate for the clients work injury.
