GBP50,000 Compensation for Amputation After Road Traffic Accident

09 November 2010

An 18 year old boy was driving his scooter through his home town.  As he was pulling out of a car park he was run over by the defendant’s van.  Unfortunately, our client had to have an amputation of his lower leg.

After a claim had been made to the defendant, it became clear that the evidence surrounding the road traffic accident was poor, meaning that the experts could not categorically confirm whether the defendant had been negligent.  Liability for the accident was denied by the defendant.  Proceedings were started in the Sheffield County Court.  With the trial due to take place in three weeks an offer was made by the defendant which was accepted.  With help from our expert road traffic accident solicitors, our client was awarded £50,000 in compensation.
