Manual Handling Accident at Work Compensation for Child Care Worker
09 October 2010
Our client is employed as a Senior Residential Child Care Worker. Whilst he was working he had to undertake various jobs moving pieces of equipment, with another colleague, from house to house. Whilst they were unloading one of the packages from the vehicle into the house they decided to try and get the package through the back door as it was wider. However, as they manoeuvred the package across the garden, our client’s colleague tripped and dropped his end of the sofa. This meant that for a brief time, our client was carrying the full weight of the package by himself. He felt an immediate strain to his back after this accident at work. The claim was bought under the Manual Handling Regulations and liability was admitted. With help from our expert accident at work solicitors, our client received £2,500 for the injuries suffered.
