Compensation Awarded for Worker Severely Burnt at Work

19 August 2010

On the day of the accident our client was galvanizing metal wire and was working in the area where the metal is bathed in zinc. He stepped off the platform and onto the walkway underneath the machine. Although he was wearing the required goggles at the time, molten metal zinc dripped from one of the wires on the overhead rollers and landed on his face, near his right eye. An investigation was carried out into the accident and that trays have now been placed underneath the rollers to catch any excess molten metal zinc.  These improved health and safety measures negates the chance of a similar incident happening again. Our expert health and safety solicitors successfully obtained compensation for our client who suffered serious burns as a result of his personal injury.
