Two custody sergeants accused of misconduct
19 November 2009
We represented two custody sergeants accused of misconduct. The two custody sergeants were accused of misconduct in a public office concerning their care of a detainee who was later taken to hospital with a life-threatening condition. Expert evidence was able to show that the detainee had, most likely, swallowed a package of drugs prior to his arrest which caused a rapid and unexpected deterioration in his condition. The prosecution was dropped prior to trial.
