Slater and Gordon is proud to announce a partnership with Air Ambulances UK. As well as becoming members on their legal panel, this partnership has helped launch the AAUK Improving Outcomes Fund. Developed alongside HCC Solicitors, this is a dedicated national initiative designed to support air ambulance patients, their loved ones, and the crews who respond to life-threatening emergencies.

The first of its kind fund aims to ensure patients and crews receive the support they need following a serious incident and enable air ambulance charities to provide vital aftercare services, improving long-term outcomes for those affected.

Our partnership will offer patients and families access to expert legal advice at a critical time, when they need it most, alongside a patient and family pack containing important information and guidance. We understand the vital role that Air Ambulance has in providing crucial, life-saving care to those who have been impacted by life changing injury, and we look forward to supporting the work they do.

With the AAUK Improving Outcomes Fund, Air Ambulance charities will be able to apply for grants ranging from £5,000 to £25,000 to fund initiatives that improve patient outcomes and crew wellbeing. The fund will support:

· Patient aftercare support services

· Dedicated crew support services

· Dedicated support spaces for patients and/or crews

· Outdoor reflection spaces for patients and crews

Lindsay Boswell CBE, Interim CEO of Air Ambulances UK, said: "The AAUK Improving Outcomes Fund is a crucial step forward in ensuring that those affected by traumatic incidents receive the ongoing support they need. Our partnership with HCC Solicitors and Slater and Gordon Lawyers UK reflects our shared commitment to improving patient outcomes and supporting the dedicated crews who provide lifesaving care. We look forward to seeing the real impact this fund will have across the air ambulance sector."

Madelene Holdsworth, Managing Director - Specialist Legal Services at Slater and Gordon Lawyers UK said:

"Our serious injury team has a long track record in supporting individuals and their families following life-changing injury and we understand the importance of aftercare and the need for greater access to expert and bespoke support. Working alongside Air Ambulances UK, we are proud to have created this ‘first of its kind’ fund which will help to enable that. The Improving Outcomes Fund will support the lifesaving work of air ambulances across the UK in helping seriously injured people and their loved ones to access the medical assistance they need but also the advice they provide to enable injured peoples to rebuild their lives and look to the future."

Jamie McDonnell, Relationship Manager at Slater and Gordon Lawyers UK added:

“As a firm who understands and supports the complex needs of those who have sustained a life changing injury or sadly bereaved due to a traumatic event, we are proud to partner with Air Ambulances UK to offer patients and families comprehensive access to legal experts at such a critical time in their lives. The lifesaving work of the air ambulance and those providing emergency care is crucial and the launch of the Improving Outcomes Fund enables all air ambulance charities to develop their own provisions to further support patients and their crews."

We look forward to working together and supporting those in need of support and advice.
