Paces Sheffield

Paces Sheffield

We understand how much of a difference specialist care can make to children and families living with cerebral palsy. We are proud to support Paces Sheffield, a leading specialist centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders.

Why choose Slater and Gordon as your legal representative?

Paces Sheffield was established by a group of parents who recognised the benefits of specialised education for their children with cerebral palsy. They work to support the children and their families and have an ever-growing reputation for excellence in Conductive Education. We are proud to partner with Paces Sheffield and champion the charity’s Outreach Support Programme.

We strive to ensure that we provide the highest level of support and care to our clients, and will ensure we achieve the best possible outcome for their case.

Jodie Cook, a Senior Associate in our medical negligence team in Sheffield says of the partnership: “Slater and Gordon is proud to be partnering with Paces Sheffield and championing their Outreach Support Programme. Early intervention has a hugely positive impact on the quality of life for children, which reduces the need for later care and enables greater independence. At Slater and Gordon, we understand the importance of outreach support and how it can cut down the need for hospital-based care.

We have helped support families with children who are diagnosed with cerebral palsy and will continue to offer our legal expertise to those who need it.”

David Hall, Fundraising and Communications Manager says: "We are incredibly proud and happy to be partnered with the team at Slater and Gordon. We are so thankful for their support towards our Outreach Programme. This programme allows us to start supporting and working with children and their families from a very young age, which in the long term can be so vital to ensuring our children can reach their full potential and shatter those barriers that have been put in their way.

We are excited to get to know the team even more over the next few years and would like to extend our most heartfelt thank you for the support we have already received from them."

Highly experienced:

Our team of specialist medical negligence lawyers have been for decades representing those who have experienced medical negligence and have been involved in some of the most high-profile and ground-breaking cases.

Having worked with charities supporting those impacted by cerebral palsy and their loved ones, we understand the challenges you and your family face and we will be with you throughout your case, every step of the way.

Strong reputation:

We have a strong reputation for achieving outstanding results for cerebral palsy medical negligence claims, as well as ensuring that the best available treatment and rehabilitation is also obtained.

Independent legal guides such as Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 have ranked our teams highly over the years and consider many of our medical negligence experts to be leaders in their field. During this time, we have also won and been shortlisted in several prestigious legal awards such as the Personal Injury Awards, Manchester Legal Awards, Modern Claim Awards, Wales Legal Awards and the Liverpool Law Society Awards. Many of our experts have been accredited by the Law Society, AvMA and APIL, demonstrating their knowledge, skills and experience in medical negligence.

Medical team of nurses and midwives:

Our team, which spans across England, Scotland and Wales, also includes nurses and midwives who are able to offer bespoke medical advice and guidance in addition to the legal expertise provided by our specialist lawyers.

Treatment and rehabilitation support:

We work with some of the most experienced case managers and treatment providers in the UK - not only to ensure that the treatment and support you receive is the best available, but also to seek early interim payments. This is a key part of our strategy to ensure there is funding to help support you as soon as possible, giving you and your family the best chance for a better quality of life.

No financial risk:

Slater and Gordon is able to offer Legal Aid funding on cases where a child has suffered from a neurological injury at birth or within the early neonatal period, such as cerebral palsy.

It is important to note that not all law firms are able to offer Legal Aid funding, but Slater and Gordon is an exception.

By funding your case through Legal Aid, there is no financial risk to you. We are also able to offer a Conditional Fee Agreement (no-win no-fee) with insurance cover or operate under the terms of any existing legal expenses insurance. We will explore and advise you on the best funding option available.

Providing a seamless end to end service for all your legal needs:

Additionally, as we are one of the largest law firms in the UK, we have dedicated experts in a wide range of specialist legal services who can offer bespoke expertise when it is needed. This includes services like court of protection and family law, in addition to an independent financial planning company, who can help ensure any compensation received lasts your lifetime and gives you financial protection.

Having these bespoke services enables us to provide our clients with an end-to-end seamless service for their legal and financial needs.
