Slater and Gordon UK Acquires Taylor Vinters Personal Injury Practice

Slater and Gordon Lawyers announced today it has acquired the personal injury and Court of Protection practice of Cambridge-headquartered Taylor Vinters, the largest single-office claimant personal injury practice in East Anglia with a national reputation for its work, particularly in the field of complex brain injury claims involving the provision of life-long care for accident victims.

Head of Slater and Gordon UK said the acquisition of this nationally renowned personal injury team and Court of Protection practice would see the firm’s operations in the UK grow by 36 staff, while maintaining its values and high service standards. Five former Taylor Vinters staff, including one equity partner, are to become members of Slater and Gordon UK LLP.

Head of Slater and Gordon UK said, “The planned acquisition will substantially advance the firm’s strategic objectives for the UK based on revenue and earnings growth, geographic expansion, specialist practice area development, increased depth of competence and organisations with strong similar cultures. Our overriding ambition is to provide people with access to world class legal representation.

“Taylor Vinters’ claimant personal injury team has dealt with some of the most valuable injury claims in history and acquiring this experience and team, who will remain in their current Cambridge offices, is an important step towards our goal of becoming the UK’s largest and best known legal services provider.

“This is an exciting time for Slater and Gordon. The expansion of our personal injury team means that we have significantly increased the number of people that we are able to help secure compensation for their injuries, and are better placed to work with them and their families to ensure they receive the best possible medical treatment and rehabilitation.”

Matt Meyer, Taylor Vinters’ CEO explained, “Spinning out this extremely successful part of our business to Slater and Gordon will allow us to accelerate our own strategic business plan. It is an important milestone in our focus on becoming one of the leading firms operating internationally in the areas of technology, investment and boutique private client.

“It was important to us all that any sale was the right thing for our personal injury team too. We believe that Slater and Gordon offers the best platform for our personal injury business to continue to grow and prosper in a very dynamic marketplace for injury claims. We are very proud that we have created a business that is attractive to a firm such as Slater and Gordon.”
