Expert employment law advice may be required by teachers at a school after it was announced there will be job cuts there.
Professionals at Abbeyfield School in Chippenham have been informed they are under threat of redundancy following a forthcoming 90-day consultation period involving senior officials, the Gazette and Herald reports.
Headteacher James Fox has indicated that any wishes to take voluntary redundancy will be considered during this time and told the news source there are several reasons behind this decision.
For instance, he noted the current economic climate is making it necessary for all schools to reassess their outgoings and make cutbacks wherever they are needed.
"Obviously from a personal level it's very sad because it's not something we froth at the mouth at doing, but it's a business and I have got a job to do," he added.
Recently, the Telegraph & Argus reported that Bradford Council is looking to implement up to 500 redundancies in the near future.
