Compensation totalling £300,000 has been awarded to a father who suffered life-changing injuries during a road traffic accident.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Zahid Hussain sustained several fractures to his skull and swelling on the brain when he was hit by a vehicle in Blackburn in March 2007.
Mr Hussain - who was 26 at the time of the incident - subsequently spent time in hospital fighting for his life and although he is now fully physically mobile again, the injury to his brain has left him with "serious thinking and psychological problems".
Therefore, a case heard at the High Court in London ended with Judge Alison Hampton QC deciding that a damages settlement of £300,000 from the car driver's insurance firm is fair.
"I hope the money can be put to good use and in the best interests of the claimant," she added.
Recently, Megumi Wilson was awarded £250,000 in interim compensation after a road traffic accident in Wales six years ago.
