Widower seeks £300k compensation
A widower is seeking personal injury compensation of more than £300,000 after his wife was killed by a negligent driver.
According to the Reading Post, John Lyon is pursuing significant damages from Keisha Bianca Wall through a High Court writ after it emerged she had been texting behind the wheel when she collided with his wife Christine in February 2010.
During this incident, Mrs Lyon was walking along a pavement in Reading when Wall accidentally drove off the road and pinned her up against a wall due to the fact the motorist was paying attention to her phone.
The 63-year-old woman died at the scene from severe chest injuries and Wall, who was 18 at the time, has been convicted of causing death by dangerous driving and was sentenced to 30 months in a young offenders' institute earlier this year.
This comes after it emerged that Mitesh Prashar died during a preventable accident at work in nearby Slough in January 2008, meaning his family may seek damages.
