Teacher pursuing unfair dismissal compensation

An employment tribunal has got underway after a music teacher claimed she was victim to both sexual discrimination and unfair dismissal.

According to the Northampton Chronicle & Echo, Sarah Cameron believes she was forced out of her job as an instructor at Quinton House School in Upton in February 2010 due to the inappropriate treatment she was given by headteacher Geraint Jones.

Ms Cameron, who had worked at the institution since 1991, told a hearing at the Bedford Tribunal Office that Mr Jones had been "cold and distant" towards her when he took up his post around a year prior to her departure.

For instance, she noted her classroom was moved away from the main campus of the school - an independent place of education offering services for pupils between the age of two and 18 - by her boss, which caused her to feel "unsupported and isolated" from her colleagues.
