Woman to receive compensation over spinal injuries
A woman who sustained spinal injuries that have left her in a wheelchair is to be compensated for her suffering.
In March 2006, Rachel Davis was travelling as a passenger in a Honda Civic being driven by her footballer boyfriend John Catto.
He is thought to be have been doing speeds of 90 mph when he overtook fellow motorist Stephen Skinner.
It was at this point along the road from Avon to Munlochy - which is a small village located in the north of Scotland - when Mr Catto lost control.
His car flew off the highway and landed in a field on its roof.
It has now been ruled that he and Mr Skinner will share the liability, with the latter shouldering 20 per cent of the blame.
As a result of the accident, Ms Davis suffered head and chest injuries and a broken pelvis, as well as damage to her spine.
