Paul Gascoigne's former spouse Sheryl has been successful in her claim of libel against a publication.
She took legal action against The People over a story that included allegations that she prevented the ex-footballer seeing their son Regan.
Headed "Gazza heartache: Star in new booze fear after rift with son", the article was published in December last year.
In it, it was stated she had refused to speak to Gascoigne and had deliberately changed her telephone numbers to prevent him seeing their son over the festive period.
During a recent ceremony in the High Court, a settlement between the parties was reached.
As part of the conditions of the deal, Sheryl will get damages paid to her.
Meanwhile, a solicitor acting on behalf of Mirror Group Newspapers said the organisation wished to apologise for the distress and embarrassment caused.
Gascoigne was in the papers again recently after being a passenger in a car involved in an accident.
