A former Big Brother housemate has been successful in her claims of libel, it has emerged.
Charley Uchea launched legal proceedings against the Daily Star, which is owned by Express Newspapers.
The case centred on an article entitled "£500-a-night Charley", which was published in June 2007.
In the story, it was suggested that she had taken part in a sex scam at a lap-dancing club.
The Daily Star had alleged that the 23-year-old was involved in setting up meetings with clients in the club and once she had been given the money she would leave without providing any services.
In a new development, the newspaper has had to admit that remarks were untrue and has paid Ms Uchea substantial damages and covered her legal fees.
As well as the Daily Star, Express Newspapers owns the Daily Express and the Daily Star Sunday, among other publications.
