Media agent Duncan Hayes was awarded over £125,000 in compensation during a recent employment tribunal, it has been revealed.
Mr Hayes, who represents a number of comedy writers and performers, including Office duo Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, had been dismissed by PFD parent group CSS Stellar in October last year over allegations of gross misconduct.
The agent argued that PFD - a literary and talent agency firm - had acted unlawfully in withholding his due wages and commission following his sacking.
During a hearing in London, tribunal judge Ms Henderson ruled in favour of Mr Hayes, finding that PFD had contravened employment laws and that the agent was entitled to all outstanding commission and salary payments.
The sum awarded amounts to £114,104 in lost salary and commissions, as well as £11,410 as a result of PFD's failure to follow statutory grievance procedures.
