Teen's worksite death lands 2 in court
Two men have appeared in court following the death of a teenager on his first day at work on a construction site.
Lesley Wright from Wright and Son Contractors and Joe Murray, director of MMM Design and Build, were appearing in court in Northern Ireland in relation to the death of 17-year-old Phillip Mulholland from Manse Way in County Down.
The teenager was killed in February 2005 after a wall collapsed on him at a demolition site where he was working.
Both men faced charges relating to safety standards, while three similar charges were also laid against MMM Design, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
The incident highlights the dangers associated with building sites and demonstrates the importance for employers to maintain stringent health and safety standards to ensure the safety of their employees.
