Jazz singer star Neil Diamond's celebrity divorce stands as the costliest ever, according to a report in financial website Forbes.
When Diamond divorced Marcia Murphey in 1994 after 25 years of marriage it reportedly cost him £75 million - enough to take top spot in the report.
Just behind Diamond in second place is Steven Spielberg, who paid out £50 million to then-wife Amy Irving in 1989.
Meanwhile, Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner paid out £43 million and £40 million for their divorces in 1978 and 1994 respectively.
However, it appears as though Diamond may be usurped from the top spot by Michael Jordan's impending divorce, which estimates from Forbes predict will involve a settlement at least as large as Diamond's.
Sir Paul McCartney, meanwhile, is expected to get off somewhat more lightly, paying out only £30 million to Heather Mills from his estimated fortune of £350 million.
A recent report from insurer Norwich Union put the average cost of a divorce in Britain at £28,000.
