Cheating on Your Partner Can Be Inherited

Recent research by scientists has shown that there is a gene which determines the likelihood of being unfaithful in a relationship and that particular versions of the gene can increase the chance of this.

The gene, called Avpria, affects social behaviour and sexual motivation. Each of us carry two of these genes, one from each parent, but it’s the combination of these genes that can affect the outcome. The research has also shown that the gene can increase ruthlessness and promiscuity.

If one person in a relationship has an affair or commits adultery this can and often will lead to the breakdown of that relationship and potential divorce proceedings if the people are married.

Separation and divorce can be extremely stressful but at Slater and Gordon Lawyers we offer a range of options to help including expert legal advice from our team of Family Solicitors, Collaborative Lawyers and Family Mediation Lawyers.

Family Mediation is an alternative to divorce court proceedings and involves a series of meetings between the separating couple and the Mediator. Throughout the process they work with the Mediator, to help them both reach an agreement that they both feel comfortable with.

Family Mediation gives the couple a degree of control over the speed and cost of their divorce and is invariably quicker and less expensive than court proceedings.

It is now compulsory for people in England and Wales who want to get a divorce (except in certain exceptional circumstances) to attend a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) to find out if Mediation is suitable and the best way forward.

At Slater and Gordon Lawyers office in Milton Keynes, Family Solicitor and Qualified Family Mediator Tara Deegan is trained to offer MIAM meetings and can offer appointments at short notice in Central Milton Keynes.

Tara is available to discuss any initial enquiry by phone at no charge and then charges £89 +VAT each or £130 +VAT per couple for the first MIAM meeting. Thereafter mediation sessions costs £150 +VAT per person, a rate that is lower than most family lawyers.

As Family Mediation involves direct meetings and discussions the costs of getting divorced remain low compared to instructing a Divorce Solicitor and couples often reach a resolution after a few weeks.

To speak with Tara Deegan call 01908 354 154 and outside of the Milton Keynes area call us 24/7 on freephone 0800 916 9055 or contact us online.
