Anti-Bribery Compliance Tips

A helpful paper was published by Transparency International UK (TI) on 11 July 2013.

Diagnosing Bribery Risk sets out practical guidance to assist businesses in conducting on an effective bribery risk assessments.

Highlights of the document include:

  • 10 practice principles for risk assessment
  • A risk assessment template
  • A bribery risk assessment checklist.

The guidance is generic and is intended to assist all businesses identify and evaluate risks relevant to their organisation

There is no one size fits all system, and organisations must therefore consider the guidance in the context of their specific business.

Guidance is necessarily just guidance but the standing of TI is such that enforcement agencies might have regard to it when looking for evidence what risk assessment an organisation has conducted when investigating suspected corrupt business practices.
