I am a Litigation Executive who works closely with Jodie Cook, providing support on cases where clients have suffered life-changing injuries as a result of negligent medical treatment.
I qualified as a Solicitor in in the field of clinical negligence in March 2015. Between 2015 and 2021 I represented clients in claims involving a wide variety of different medical conditions. I have experience in cases concerning delays in diagnosing cancer, surgical errors and GP failures amongst other issues.
I have particular interest in claims where there has been a delay in diagnosing sepsis leading to, sometimes fatal, complications. During the course of my career a number of my client’s cases have attracted national media attention, helping to raise awareness of important issues.
Career highlights
I successfully settled claims for two young children who died from sepsis at the same NHS Trust. These were emotional cases where we were able to obtain admissions of liability from the Defendant. Both matters attracted national media coverage which gave the families an opportunity to have their voices heard.
I also acted in a matter in which my client received compensation totalling £500,000 following delayed diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. This was despite liability being denied by the Defendant. The settlement ensured that the client, who could no longer return to her career as a nurse, had financial security.
In addition, I successfully recovered compensation for a family in a very sad case concerning the death of their newborn daughter. With the assistance of Counsel we were able to argue that the father was a secondary victim and to resolve the claim as a whole for him, the mother and the estate of the child. Secondary victim claims such as these are extremely difficult to succeed in and so this was a great result. The case also attracted some media attention both locally and nationally.

As well as acting for clients and assisting colleagues, I have also been involved with marketing and charity work.
