I want my daily work to make a positive difference to people’s lives, in particular, helping to deliver an outcome they may not be able to achieve for themselves without such assistance.
Get to know Nick
I qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and joined Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Cardiff in 2000. I've specialised in the field of personal injury for over 25 years and have extensive experience in all areas of that work, always acting for the claimant.
My expertise lies in health and safety at work, road traffic collisions and public or occupier’s liability claims.
I consider each successful case as a highlight because each case is important to the individual claimant concerned. Recent successes include a multi-million pound award for a fatality in a high profile road accident, a settlement in excess of half a million pounds involving a link between a stroke with an incident many months before, and at the other end of the spectrum a win at Trial for a coffee shop worker who sustained soft tissue injury from an ergonomically poorly designed work station.
I’ve been recognised over many years in independent legal guides, Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. I’ve received rankings such as ‘Recommended Lawyer’ and ‘Leading Individual’. Past testimonials I’ve received include: “He’s a highly experienced solicitor who has a good feel for litigation and can get straight to the point”, “Nicholas Collins heads an efficient team at Slater and Gordon” and “He has a wealth of experience handling high-value personal injury cases”.
The 2021 edition of the Legal 500 ranked me as a ‘Leading Individual’ and says I'm a 'top quality personal injury practitioner' and am particularly strong in relation to handling road traffic accidents and occupiers’ and public liability cases.
