Leona is a trainee solicitor in our criminal and misconduct team at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in London.
Her previous seats include residential property and crime in the Chester office. Leona assists the criminal and misconduct team by defending a range of cases ranging from general crime, serious fraud and misconduct within the police force. She assists the team with research, attending Court, drafting documents and liaising with clients and external parties.
Prior to commencing her training in September 2016, Leona completed her LPC at BPP University in Manchester. During her four year law degree at Surrey University, Leona completed a year placement at Slater & Gordon Lawyers in Cardiff. She assisted on a wide range of complex personal injury claims, including serious motor vehicle accidents, employment liability and disease work, in particular mesothelioma matters.
Leona has been involved in various charity and pro bono work throughout her education. During University, she volunteered for Guildford Citizen Advice Bureau. At the Bureau she supported the solicitors on a weekly basis who provided free, independent and confidential advice on a huge variety of law. She was a volunteer for several years with Guildford Angels who would assist the most vulnerable individuals in the community. During her placement in the Cardiff office, Leona would partake in various events to raise awareness for Headway UK, who provide vital support to victims of serious brain injuries. Her most recent contribution to the community was volunteering within local schools in the Manchester area. Leona would volunteer at secondary schools and partake in innovative business exercises with the schoolchildren. This would enable them to develop their communication and professional skills.
In her spare time, Leona has a passion for classical music. She sings in choirs and plays the harp and piano.
