Personal Injury

Jon Andrews

Principle Lawyer

Years ago, I wanted to be a lawyer to make people's lives better, and that is still what I try and do every day. It is a privilege to have the chance to do so.

Expert profile of Jon Andrews

Get to know Jon

My legal career began over 30 years’ ago in 1990 and I qualified as a solicitor in 1992. I have a vast amount of experience in both personal injury and industrial disease having had previous roles in my career as joint managing partner and a head of disease.

I’m now a principal lawyer within the industrial disease team at Slater and Gordon in Liverpool and represent victims of asbestos exposure and other occupation diseases.

Career highlights

I'm now regularly involved in cases where we're obtaining payment for private medical treatment to improve our client’s quality of life and life expectancy. Every such case is a highlight.

We often have a fight on our hands to track down employers and insurance companies when people are diagnosed with diseases many years after they have finished work, and winning cases like that is always particularly pleasing.

Recognition

For several years I've been recognised in the independent legal guide, the Legal 500. The 2021 edition of the Legal 500 has ranked me as a “Next Generation Partner” and said about me: “Dogged yet affable determination to support each client in their claim, he is a star performer, a great negotiator and is very tenacious in the pursuit of the most difficult cases." I try and live up to that.

The extra mile

I’m a member of the Law Society. I contribute to specialist legal and asbestos charity publications, and support asbestos charities at every opportunity. I speak regularly at conferences arranged by trade unions and others on issues relating to occupational disease, including stress at work.
