Deepti Patel Trainee Solicitor, Criminal and Misconduct

Experience Profile

Deepti is a trainee solicitor in our criminal and misconduct team at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in London.

She is in her first seat and involved in defending a range of cases ranging from general crime, serious fraud and misconduct within the police force. She assists the team with research, attending Court, drafting documents and liaising with clients and external parties.

Deepti has a range of experience. Prior to commencing her traineeship in September 2016, she was a paralegal in our serious injury department assisting on complex personal injury claims. Deepti also handled a large caseload of her own, involving individuals that had sustained whiplash and soft tissue injuries, and some larger cases involving more serious injuries.

Deepti has also been involved in charity work and pro bono. During University, she volunteered for Victim Support, a charity providing much needed support for vulnerable victims and witnesses attending Court. She was a key volunteer for several years before securing full time employment. She has also volunteered for the Birmingham Employment Rights Advice Line, a free and confidential service providing useful information for those with employment-related issues. More recently, she has also volunteered for the Spinal Injuries Association.

Deepti is keen to gain experience in several areas of law and will be rotating seats throughout her training contract.
