Get to know Paul

I joined Slater & Gordon in 2023 in the respected Court of Protection team in London. I have been involved in Court of Protection based work for over 20 years having started my career at the Court’s predecessor the Public Guardianship Office and have worked in public and private sector Court of Protection settings ever since.

I work predominantly with vulnerable clients of all ages and those with acquired brain injuries. My role focuses on managing the financial affairs of those who lack the capacity to do so for themselves. I advise on all aspects of Court of Protection work including deputyships and serious injury trusts.

I am based in London, though I act for clients across the country with a large case load based in the Northwest of England. I work with the Personal Injury Teams during the litigation process as well as closely with clients post settlement.

I also work closely with multi-disciplinary teams such as case managers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists as well as architects when adapting client properties to suit their needs, and financial advisors to help grow and sustain client portfolios.

Career highlights

A lot of the most rewarding elements to my work is in seeing the difference our actions and involvement can make for our clients and their support networks, allowing them to live life to the fullest under what are otherwise very difficult circumstances. Watching my clients grow is a rewarding and deeply fulfilling experience.
