Get to know Iren

I joined Slater and Gordon at the start of 2026 and I am based in the Clinical Negligence team in Edinburgh.

I trained as a solicitor at a small high street firm in Glasgow where I dealt with a wide variety of cases including general civil litigation, general personal injury litigation, family law, guardianships, executry estates, residential and commercial conveyancing, immigration and criminal litigation cases. I regularly appeared in the Sheriff Courts and covered hearings in the Justice of the Peace Court in Glasgow. I qualified as a solicitor at the start of February 2022 and thereafter limited my areas of focus to personal injury litigation and family law before specialising in personal injury litigation. Prior to joining Slater + Gordon, I worked as a defender solicitor for two of the largest international defender firms and have invaluable experience in defending personal injury cases. I have experience in litigating personal injury cases in the Sheriff Courts, National Personal Injury Court, and the Court of Session.

I have a strong interest in all areas of clinical negligence law and I enjoy dealing with all aspects of litigation. I am passionate about protecting clients' interests and ensuring that they receive the best possible outcome for their cases. Throughout my career, I have always had a strong focus on assisting and advising clients in a way that suited them. I am mindful of the potential stress and anxiety that be caused by the process of litigation and always aim to minimise clients' exposure to this as much as possible whilst ensuring that they remain appropriately informed during the lifetime of their case.

I am a Hungarian native speaker and I am experienced in advising clients in both English and Hungarian.

Career highlights

I feel that every case where I achieved the outcome my clients wished for is a career highlight for me.

I am particularly proud to have been entrusted with and successfully conducting the defence of high value claims since the start of my career in personal injury litigation. During my defence career, I have taken over the handling of cases for a corporate client which were previously all settled as a matter of practice, and successfully identified a possible strategy for a viable defence.

I have a track record of receiving excellent feedback from clients who were previously anxious about their cases and have felt that they had a positive and stress-free experience during my handling of their case.

I was promoted to Associate in September 2024 on the basis of my work as a defender agent, after having worked as a Solicitor and gaining a wide range of experience.

The extra mile

I participated in a successful fundraiser where we exceeded our target for Scottish Women's Aid in 2025 by way of challenging myself along with a few of my friends to abseil from the top of the Port of Leith Distillery.
