Get to know Craig
I qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and joined Slater and Gordon in May 2024, joining the respected Court of Protection team in London. I advise on all aspects of court of protection work including deputyships, serious injury trusts and statutory wills. I am also a named professional deputy for several children and young adults who have suffered serious birth injuries. My role focuses on managing the financial affairs of those who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves, ensuring their often complex needs are met with the upmost care and precision. Before becoming a deputy I spent over 10 years as a specialist medical negligence lawyer an area in which I was recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. Alongside my work in medical negligence and inquests I also served as a professional deputy. This hands on experience in litigation has provided me with a strong understanding of the ongoing needs and challenges vulnerable clients face. Today, I bring that expertise to my court of protection role where I work closely with litigation solicitors to advise on complex issues covering a claimant’s ability to manage their personal injury award and any ongoing affairs.
Career highlights
I am very privileged to work with a wide variety of vulnerable clients that require assistance with their property and financial affairs. This area of the law is often complex and challenging but seeing the positive impact that can be made to a client’s life with our involvement is incredibly rewarding. I work closely with clients, their families, case managers and therapists to ensure that best interest decisions are made on behalf of the client to meet their needs and support their goals. I have purchased and adapted several properties for clients creating forever homes for them and their families.
