Medical Negligence
Amy Downey
Chartered Legal Executive
I am extremely lucky to have a job I love. I appreciate that anyone requiring advice from a lawyer is going through a difficult time. I strive to do all that I can to make the process as easy as possible for them.
Get to know Amy
I completed my law degree at Coventry University in 2017 before returning to South Wales to commence my legal career. Alongside study for the CILEx exams, I worked full time dealing with a mixed caseload of personal injury claims. These claims ranged from road traffic accidents to medical negligence.
Shortly before joining Slater and Gordon in 2020, I qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive – specialising in clinical negligence claims.
I now deal with all aspects of clinical negligence including representing trade union members.
Career highlights
Any situation where I can help someone get the answers and compensation they deserve is a highlight for me.
However I have been particularly pleased when I progressed a case with complex causation issues to a trial, and succeeded.
The extra mile
I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
I am a member of the Headway Cardiff Fundraising Committee.
