We are representing a man who has developed mesothelioma, an asbestos related condition.
Our client worked at the Vane Tempest Colliery in Seaham between 1957 and 1991.
He believes that the Bath House at that location contained piping which was lagged with asbestos material, and may have had asbestos in the fabric of the building.
Mesothelioma is a cancer in the lining of the lung caused by exposure to asbestos dust and fibres. His symptoms include breathlessness and chest pains and, although he has started to undergo chemotherapy treatment, unfortunately his life expectancy is now extremely limited.
Our client is seeking to build a case against his previous employers who were at fault for his exposure to asbestos. Other than the Bath House, he does not know where else asbestos was used on site.
We are looking for anyone who worked at the Vane Tempest Colliery between 1957 and 1991 and who may be able to help us with our enquiries. The information you can provide could be vital to this compensation claim.
Those with any information can contact Caitlin Jones at Slater and Gordon on 0330 995 5574 or email caitlin.jones@slatergordon.uk.
