Supporting International Day of Persons with Disabilities

We are proud to support the United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2020. The theme this year is 'Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World'.

30 November 2020

In recognition of this annual global event we're celebrating the value of our disabled employees and customers by going purple! #PurpleLightUp is a global movement that celebrates and draws attention to the economic contribution of the 386 million disabled employees around the world and is aligned with the United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

According to Purple Space, a networking and professional hub for disabled employees, more than 1 billion people globally have some form of health condition or impairment. That's one in seven of us.

Our serious injury team see the positive impact this type of support, awareness and empowerment can have on people who have sustained life changing illnesses and/ or injuries rendering them disabled. Many of these disabilities are invisible.

Slater + Gordon are committed to raising awareness of the valid contribution that disabled people offer our society, and businesses across the UK.

Equally, our Inclusion networks remain committed in supporting all our employees to bring their authentic selves to work, to reach their full potential and to encourage a diverse and inclusive workplace.

We invite you to join us on 3 December to unite as one voice to celebrate, champion and empower disabled colleagues and our customers. The Purple Light up global movement is a powerful declaration of solidarity by, and with, disabled people, and we are proud to be taking part.

The Accessibility and Disability network at Slater and Gordon remains committed in supporting all our disabled customers and employees and we are very proud to support #purplelightup this year.
