Holidaymakers receive compensation after hotel explosion

26 September 2017

Three British travellers injured in an explosion at their Dominican Republic resort were awarded compensation settlements for their injuries.

What happened: Our clients were in the restaurant at their hotel in the Dominican Republic when a gas explosion sent them flying from their seats.

Impact: Their holiday was ruined and one of our clients suffered from broken ribs, respiratory issues and tinnitus. As well as being physically injured, each of our clients suffered post-traumatic stress disorder.

How Slater and Gordon helped: We obtained medical evidence and brought a claim against the tour operator. Private treatment was arranged for each of our clients.

Decision:  Each client received a compensation settlement.
