Morrison’s employee receives compensation after workplace fall

20 July 2017

A sales assistant at Morrison’s supermarket was awarded a five-figure settlement following a workplace accident that left her seriously incapacitated.

What happened: Our client worked as a sales assistant in Morrison’s. She was walking along behind the deli counter when her feet became tangled in loose wire, causing her to fall.

Impact: Our client fractured her femur and underwent surgery, following which further complication arose, requiring her to have a hip replacement. She was seriously incapacitated and unable to work.

How Slater and Gordon helped:  We obtained appropriate medical evidence and liability was admitted. The defendant would not agree a reasonable offer. We therefore argued a reasonable figure that our client was happy with.
