25 May 2017

A cyclist received a five-figure settlement following a road traffic collision that resulted in a fractured pelvis and damage to his bike.

What happened: Our client was cycling along the road when the defendant’s vehicle turned in front of him, colliding with his bike. The defendant driver fled the scene.

Impact: He suffered a fractured pelvis and was kept in hospital for five days. Our client required crutches and his bike was damaged during the incident.

How Slater and Gordon helped:  An interim payment was obtained so our client could repair his bike and we arranged a medical appointment with an independent expert to value his claim. The claim settled for a five-figure sum which will enable our client to receive the treatment and rehabilitation needed to aid his recovery.
