A cyclist received a five-figure settlement following a road traffic collision that resulted in a fractured pelvis and damage to his bike.

Slater and Gordon Lawyer: Rachel Coulson is a chartered legal executive and personal injury lawyer at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Sheffield.

Settlement: £25,000.

What Happened: Our client was cycling along the road when the defendant’s vehicle turned in front of him, colliding with his bike. The defendant driver fled the scene.

Impact: He suffered a fractured pelvis and was kept in hospital for five days. Our client required crutches and his bike was damaged during the incident.

How Slater and Gordon Helped:  An interim payment was obtained in order that the claimant could repair his bike and we arranged a medical appointment with an independent expert to value his claim.

Decision: A settlement of £25,000.
