£40,000 for Cyclist Knocked off Bicycle

23 November 2015

bike accident with car

A personal injury compensation claim award was agreed when the claimant was knocked off his bike by a car, resulting in injury.

Slater and Gordon Lawyer: Clare Griffiths is a Personal Injury Solicitor at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Cardiff.

Settlement: £40,000

What Happened: Our client was knocked off his bicycle by a car.

Impact: Our client suffered tinnitus, dizziness and loss of balance, possible broken ribs, fractured clavicle and other soft tissue injuries to his neck, back, shoulder, knee etc.

How Slater and Gordon Helped: It was difficult to show a potential loss of earnings in this matter as our client had been made redundant a year before the accident and had not been successful in securing employment prior to the accident. We were able to argue that were it not for his accident, he may have been able to secure employment earlier.

Decision: A settlement of £40,000 was awarded for damages.
