Settlement Value: £27,000
Slater and Gordon Solicitor: A Travel Litigation Executive at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Manchester.
What Happened: The client was a pillion passenger on her husband’s motorbike travelling through France. He turned round to say something to her and veered off the road on to a grass verge causing them both to fall off.
Impact: The client suffered a fractured finger and a badly fractured ankle requiring hospital treatment and open reduction, internal fixation in France.
How Slater and Gordon Helped: The nature of the client’s ankle injury was such that there is a real possibility that she will require future surgery some years prior to her expected retirement date.
The settlement obtained reflected the effects that this surgery is expected to have on the client’s capacity to carry on working until her expected retirement.
Decision: The claim was settled in favour of our client and £29,000 compensation was agreed.
