Personal Injury Solicitor Wins Victory for Serviceman’s Widow
16 September 2013
Personal Injury Solicitor Tristan Hallam has achieved a victory on behalf of the widow of a fire-fighter and policemen who were attending an explosion in their line of work.
Experienced injury at work Solicitor Tristan took the case with other Solicitors to the High Court to argue that servicemen and women such as fire-fighters should be covered under Health & Safety at Work Regulations which protect employees in their place of work.
Although an argument was put by the Defendant that fire-fighters should not be entitled to bring a claim where the injury occurred on the ground, this was not accepted by the Court following an 8 day hearing.
The current position is that the Defendant, East Sussex Fire and Rescue, is considering an appeal.
Tristan Hallam is a Senior Personal Injury Solicitor at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in London.
