Post Nuptial Agreements & Legal Advice for Lottery Winners

17 April 2013

Mr & Mrs X won over £2 million on the National Lottery last year and wanted to share their fortune with their two sons.

Their oldest son had already had a trial separation from his wife and therefore he was nervous in taking his parents money in case the reconciliation didn't work out.

As experienced Family Law Solicitors we knew that a simple solution for Michael was to enter into a Post Nuptial Agreement. This is an agreement entered into after marriage which specifies how the family assets will be divided between a couple in the event of a divorce.

In Michael's case this was a simple agreement specifying that his parents’ gift would be ring fenced and pass to him.
