Police Officer Successfully Defended in Conspiracy to Commit Misconduct Case

Criminal & Misconduct Solicitor successfully defended a GMP Police Officer charged with 2 counts of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.
In this case it was alleged that the police officer had conspired to provide confidential information obtained from police force systems and police intelligence.
The investigation started in 2010 and proceeded with Prosecution of the officer and other defendants, it involved the examination of hundreds of pages of exhibits and documents. The allegations were denied from day one.
The case concluded with both counts of conspiracy being dismissed after the commencement of a 4 week trial. The fees were met by the Police Federation but as a result of the dismissal of the allegations all fees will be recovered from central funds.
