Les Elcoate’s client receives GBP450,000 following Manual Handling Claim in respect of regulations
18 May 2012
My client, a Nurse, was required to help two untrained staff handle an aggressive patient; she was on restricted duties at the time but was forced to intervene as the two other untrained staff members were restraining the patient incorrectly. There was a six month delay between the incident and her receiving medical treatment, with no reference to the accident thereafter. Due to this Accident at Work my client developed " Pars Fracture” to her lower back, which resulted in pain and stiffness and she also suffered a Failed Spinal Fusion which led to her having to be medically retired from nursing. The case successfully concluded with my client being awarded GBP450,000 in compensation.
