A law firm got fundraising off to a flying start at Cottenham’s Yesteryear Road Run.
Slater and Gordon, which has offices in Cambridge, made a £500 donation to the popular event which is held annually in aid of Cancer Research UK.
And the gift was delivered in style by Slater and Gordon Solicitor who took part in the road run in a 1926 Frazer Nash sports car.
The Slater and Gordon industrial disease specialist solicitor who works with clients affected by asbestos-related cancers, said: “We wanted to do something to support Cancer Research UK and highlight this disease.
“As you drive through all the villages there are people waiting to cheer you past. It’s a really festive atmosphere.
“We did have about half an hour of drizzle which wasn’t much fun in an open top car but it was good fun and we both said we can’t wait to go back and do it all again next year.”
More than 300 classic and vintage cars, motorbikes and even tractors convoyed from Cottenham on Sunday, taking in Rampton, Willingham, Over, Swavesey, Longstanton, Oakington and Histon.
Organisers are still counting the cash collected but hope to have beaten last year’s total of £9,000.
