Compensation of more than £300,000 is being sought by a woman who was left with life-changing injuries during a road traffic accident.
According to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Katarzyna Cieslar has submitted a writ to the High Court in London claiming damages following an incident in Poland in February 2010.
Ms Cieslar's legal documents indicated that she sustained a brain injury, several broken bones in her back, legs and neck and a damaged pelvis when the car she was a rear-seat passenger in was driven by Michal Cielsar into another vehicle.
The 28-year-old - who lives in Honley - stated this crash was caused solely by the negligence of Mr Cieslar as he failed to keep a proper lookout at a junction, which led to the collision.
Under Polish law, the driver's insurer is obliged to cover him against the liability he has to his passenger for her injuries, meaning she is potentially eligible for a significant sum of compensation.
